Sponsorship of community activities is a long tradition for AVTRAC Managing Director Paul Carey. After years of sponsoring the Belmont Business Enterprise Center, Belmont Clothes Library, TCF Resource Center, and Perth Fashion Festival Paul decided to turn his efforts to a long held passion – racing.
AVTRAC supports motorsport activities through sponsorship programs to encourage engineering excellence, aerospace technologies and processes, and team performance at the extreme level. Drag Racing is the world’s quickest and fastest motorsport, and performance levels demand a huge commitment from team owners, drivers and crew members. Drag Racing is very similar to aviation, in that the sport is highly regulated, and aerodynamics and engineering systems require understanding and application.

AERO Racing is a Group 1 Drag Racing Team based in Perth, Western Australia, ownerd and driven by AVTRAC Managing Director Paul Carey.
Zappia Racing is a Perth based Pro Slammer racing team of 10 times National Champion John Zappia. “Zap” dominated Top Doorslammer in Australia with 10 back-to-back national championships.

Locantro Racing race in Modified at the Perth Motorplex, and were the 2018/2019 Modified Champions. Angelo Locantro is a young drag racing competitor and crew member, previously on Zappia Racing’s crew. AVTRAC are proud to support this young racer with provision of Magneto’s and coils for the Holden 6 engine.
